Some of the Open Source technologies we use
PHP - a computer scripting language designed for producing dynamic web pages. PHP is a widely-used general-purpose scripting language that is especially suited for web development and can be embedded into HTML. It can be deployed on most web servers and on almost every operating system and platform free of charge.
PHP is installed on more than 20 million websites and 1 million servers. It is also the most popular Apache module among computers using Apache as a web server.
MYSQL - a multithreaded, multi-user SQL database management system which has more than 11 million installations. The program runs as a server providing multi-user access to a number of databases.
Apache - a web server notable for playing a key role in the initial growth of the World Wide Web.
Since April 1996 Apache has been the most popular HTTP server on the World Wide Web and more than 95 million servers (more than half of the entire Internet) are using it.
Linux - a Unix-like computer operating systems based on the Linux kernel which is mainly been used as server operating system. Its development is one of the most prominent examples of free and open source software collaboration.
Linux is predominantly known for its use in servers and have risen to prominence in that area (five of the ten most reliable internet hosting companies run Linux distributions on their web servers). This is due to its relative stability and long uptime. Linux distributions are the cornerstone of the LAMP server-software combination (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) which has achieved popularity among developers, and which is one of the more common platforms for website hosting. In addition to servers Linux is used on a wide variety of computer hardware; As an example Linux distributions are commonly used as operating systems for supercomputers (as of August 2008, out of the top 500 systems, 423 (84.6%) run a Linux distribution).
Google APIs - Google provides many free application programming interface (API) from Goggle Maps to Google Docs and many others.
Wiki - a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language. Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. For example, Wikis are used in businesses to provide affordable and effective intranets and for Knowledge Management.
Wordpress - an award winning blog publishing application. A blog is a website, usually on a particular subject, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other content. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs can also be a part of a bigger website.
